Wade Harrison

Wade Harrison Director & Principal Consultant, Grey Point Consulting Limited

Wade Harrison brings over 30 years of experience across law enforcement, emergency management, and private security consultancy to his role as Director and Principal Consultant at Grey Point Consulting Limited.

Wade served 17 years with the New Zealand Police, including 10 years as a member of NZ Police Tactical Units — the Armed Offenders Squad and Special Tactics Group — with overseas deployments to Australia and the Solomon Islands. During his time with NZ Police, he was involved in the apprehension of offenders for Operation Mist, which involved the planning of a kidnapping of senior executive Bill Trotter, and in the successful rescue of Baby Kahu, a small baby kidnapped in the Wellington region and held for ransom for several days.

Following his policing career, Wade moved into a leadership role with Manukau Council Emergency Management before establishing a company in 2012 to deliver a purpose-built program supporting New Zealand schools in responding to critical incidents, including lockdowns and broader emergency management planning.

Wade later founded Harrison Tew Consultants, which he successfully built and sold, before establishing Grey Point Consulting Limited — a New Zealand-based security, risk, and resilience consultancy.

Wade is licensed under the NZ Private Security Personnel Licensing Authority (PSPLA). His consultancy work has taken him overseas, providing security and risk management advice to high-profile individuals and to a globally touring rock band, including close protection services for that band while touring through high-risk countries. Wade has also provided close protection for executives both within New Zealand and internationally, and has extensive experience preparing and implementing security reviews and assessments for high-risk individuals and organisations when required to provide support, planning and training.

Today, through Grey Point Consulting, Wade continues to provide specialist security, risk, and resilience consultancy and contracting services to a range of clients in New Zealand and abroad.
